Ask Kjærgaard, a certified composer from Royal Academy of Music Aarhus, is working in a musical field he calls ‘Sound Movies’. Store Træers Grønne Mørke is music written for a short story by danish author Naja Marie Aidt about a mentally ill man and his way back to recovery. As a guitarist, Ask Kjærgaard works with both ambient soundscapes and heavy doom metal as well as classical inspired music, not unlike Dmitri Shostakovich, played by Kjærgaard and a string trio. The story is read by Danish actor Jens Albinus, who’s dramatic skills and beautiful sonority brings this moving story to life together with Kjærgaards hauntingly beautiful music.
