A woman of many talents, wearing many different hats: Maria Gaden, originally educated a singer from The Royal Academy of Music Aarhus, then she became a midwife and later the initiator, leader and Chief of Development at Center for Sustainable Hospitals in Denmark. In the midst of this intense work-life she decided to bring her music to life with her debut album Hvorfor Blir Vi Stående? (Why Do We Stand Still?)
Maria Gaden sings about love lost and found, about breaking up families and starting over and about the lack of care for our planet. Her music is soulful, intimate and heartfelt, stretching from beautiful ballads over slow pop to overjoyed up-tempo.
All music and lyrics – in her native tongue – is written by Maria Gaden. She sings, plays the guitar and the alto saxophone.
